Built on respect. Powered by experience.
At Timmins Mechanical Solutions, respect isn’t just a value, it’s the foundation of everything we do. Owner and founder Chad Tolonen started TMS in 2013 with one goal, to deliver honest, expert service grounded in hard-earned experience. With over a decade of hands-on knowledge as a Red Seal heavy-duty mechanic, Chad knew the key to building something lasting was simple – respect your team, respect your craft, and above all, respect your customers.
That philosophy runs deep through the shop floor and into every job we take on. Our growing team of 20+ technicians – many of whom have been with us for years, know that leadership here means leading by example.
Chad and his management team are licensed, mobile mechanics themselves. They’ve been in the field, boots on the ground, turning wrenches in all conditions. And because they understand the work, they’ve built a company culture where people take pride in what they do and push hard to get the job done right.
Big capabilities. Local roots.
From a small shop and a single mine maintenance contract to a 16,000-square-foot operation equipped with two 10-tonne cranes and space to service 13 machines at once, TMSI has grown to meet the evolving needs of Northern Ontario’s heavy industries. But growth hasn’t changed our focus—it’s sharpened it.
With a fleet of seven fully equipped service and lube trucks, our mobile team travels across Ontario, offering on-site service and diagnostics above or below ground. Whether it’s a fast repair, scheduled maintenance, or a complete overhaul, we come prepared to tackle any challenge with safety, speed, and precision.
Committed to the north. Built for the future.
We’re proud to call Timmins home. Our team has deep roots in the north and works with nearly every major mining operation in the region and beyond, including Northern Quebec. We specialize in all makes and models of heavy-duty and high-tech mining equipment, and there’s no machine, surface, or underground our technicians can’t handle.
But we’re not just building a business, we’re investing in a future for the north. That means providing apprenticeship opportunities, offering training to local First Nations communities, and creating real pathways to long-term careers in skilled trades.
For us, it’s about more than just fixing machines. It’s about strengthening the workforce, supporting the community, and being a partner you can rely on today and for years to come.
